Who is Bowser?

Bowser, a senior beagle/spaniel mix, was surrendered to EHS because his owner was no longer able to care for him. He was suffering from a painful eye condition that caused blindness and required daily medications. After consulting with our veterinarians, we made the tough decision to remove his eyes as they were no longer useful to him and a constant source of pain.

Bowser made a complete recovery and because he had been blind for some time, he had no issues adjusting, and actually navigated his home quite seamlessly. Bowser captured the hearts of every single staff member at the shelter and he meant a great deal to all of us. It was a blessing that Bowser found his forever family with a former EHS Board Member and lived his final years with his mom, dad, and sister. He crossed the Rainbow Bridge in 2024 at the age of 14.

Bowser was loved by everyone who met him! He often "worked on the road" with his mom, visiting medical offices, attending events in the community, and just making new friends on regular outings. Quite the social boy, Bowser fans soon became abundant and was known by many.

Bowser's legacy lives on through the Brew Bash, raising funds and awareness to support special needs pets, just like him, at the Erie Humane Society.
